With the 4th of July quickly approaching, here are a few things to do and events to participate in. In addition to the traditional town Independence Day celebrations, you can also enjoy a tour of the Vermont wind turbines and even a real circus.

Kingdom Community Wind Tour
June 24, 2017 through August 30, 2017

Green Mountain Power is offering public tours of Kingdom Community Wind in Lowell, Vermont throughout June, July and August. Tours are FREE of charge, but all visitors must register in advance.

Each tour lasts just under 90 minutes, and includes a visit to two turbines. The turbine pads are unpaved but level. There is no strenuous walking required. You will drive to the turbines in your own vehicle. There are portable toilets available at our operations building.

Celebrate the 4th of July, Greensboro Style!

Their Annual Funky Fourth Celebration will be on Saturday July 1st. The parade will start promptly at 10 am, with line up on Country Club Road, parade route ends at the Town Hall Green with music, fun and games for everyone. Please contact the church for information on their annual chicken BBQ (11am-1pm).

In addition, FIREWORKS will be set off at dusk. (Rain date is Sunday, July 2nd). Happy Fourth of July!

Independence Day Parade and Celebration
Date: Saturday, July 1, 2017
Time: 11:00 am

Join the residents of Island Pond as they celebrate Independence Day! This community parade has been a regional favorite for many years. The parade begins at 11 a.m. but it is suggested that you arrive early to find a great spot to relax and enjoy the parade!
12pm – 3pm: Chicken Barbecue
1pm: Duck Race – Buy your ducks at Island Pond Welcome Center, Gervais Ace Hardware, The Hearth & Home Country Store other participating merchants.
1:30pm: Scavenger Hunt – Starts and ends at The Health & Home Country Store
Fireworks on the lake at dusk.

Attend a Circus in the Green Mountains of Vermont!
